Georgia football is as hot as they have been in quite some time on the recruiting trail. The Bulldogs have just reently become the new No. 1 team in the country on the 247Sport team recruiting rankings, but Kirby Smart and his staff are still looking to build on that.
Georgia is still after many elite targets in the 2025 class, but the biggest of them all is five-star defensive lienman Justus Terry. Terry is the No. 9 overall player in the country according to 247Sports. He also is the No. 2 defensive lineman and the No. 2 player from the state of Georgia as well.
Terry has seemingly been trending to Georgia for quite some time now, and they even hold five crystal ball predictions in their favor to win this recruitment. But there is a new school getting involved late that are looking to change that.
5-star Justus Terry visiting Auburn this weekend
Terry will be visiting Auburn this weekend when they play host to Texas A&M. This is significant news because most felt this recruitment is coming down to Alabama and Georgia. But that may not be the case anymore now that Terry is visiting Auburn.
It is unclear how much of a chance Auburn stands in this recruitment, but it does feel unlikely that they will overtake Georgia. UGA has been at the top of Terry's list for quite some time now, and he was even committed to Georgia earlier this cycle. So Auburn getting involved this late in the cycle shouldn't worry Georgia fans too much.
Terry is planning on announcing his commitment on Dec. 6, which is the final day of the early signing period, so Georgia fans won't have to wait much longer to see if they win this recruitment. But hopefully his visit to Auburn this weekend doesn't go too well, because the last thing Georgia wants is for Terry to start getting second thoughts about a new school.
