Georgia football could be in serious trouble when it comes to Jared Curtis's commitment. The five-star quarterback is still committed to Georgia, and with a little over the week until early signing period beings UGA doesn't have to hold onto his commitment for much longer. But his commitment is as shaky as it can possibly be.
It remains to be seen if Curtis is going to ditch Georgia or not, but if he chooses to his new landing spot may already be known.
5-star QB Jared Curtis's new school may already be known
Curtis's recent relationship with Vanderbilt has been well documented. Curtis took two trips to Vanderbilt about a month ago, but he calmed Georgia's nerves by saying he was only there in support of a teammate. But that may turn out to not be the case.
Earlier this week word came out that Curtis wants to play as a true freshman next season. That is a big problem because Kirby Smart will never guarantee anyone playing time, especially with Gunner Stockton likely returning next season for one more year. But that news was followed up with the first sign that Curtis could be leaving Georgia.
On Friday Vanderbilt's QB commit in the 2026 class announced that he was decommitting from the Commodores after being committed to them for over a year. The timing of this after Curtis demanded to play next season is a little too convenient, so this could be the first domino to fall that eventually leads to Curtis ditching Georgia.
At this point is is all just speculation that Curtis could leave Georgia, but there are plenty of reasons for UGA to be nervouse right now. If Curtis does end up decommitting from Georgia it likely will occur soon, so UGA fans won't have to wait much longer to learn what he decides to do.
