Five-star Kellan Hall will be at Georgia this weekend when the Bulldogs take on the Sooners. That on paper seems like a good thing for Georgia, but Hall may have an ulterior motive that led him to pick this weekend to visit Athens because he has already been predicted to commit to Oklahoma.
Georgia's matchup against Oklahoma is arguably their biggest home game of the season. Kirby Smart has taken advantage of that by getting an elite list of recruits to visit for this game. This includes multiple five-stars who are already committed to Georgia and a handful of others who are still undecided, and that is the category Hall falls into. Hall however was predicted to Oklahoma just four days ago which makes the timing of this visit a bit strange.
5-star Kellan Hall's visit to Georgia is a bit convenient
There is a good chance Hall is genuinely interested in Georgia and will use this visit to help him decide if UGA is where he wants to play college football. The fact that Georgia is playing Oklahoma is a little too convenient though.
Hall could've chosen any other weekend to visit Georgia. He could've came during their first two home games of the season or for one of Georgia's four home games after Oklahoma, but instead he chose the game when the school that is rumored to be leading his recruitment happens to be Georgia's opponent.
Hall will still get a good look at Georgia's program this weekend and everything they have to offer. He will also get to experience how special of a place Sanford Stadium is during a big game. He however will get another look at Oklahoma as well after he was predicted to eventually commit to them.
Maybe this is just a coincidence, but there is a chance Hall did this on purpose.
Georgia could change the trajectory of Kellan Hall's recruitment this weekend
Hall announced his top 10 schools earlier this year and Georgia made the cut. They however might be higher than that considering his visit to Athens this weekend, but the fact that Hall has been predicted to Oklahoma already makes it seem like he might be in Athens to check out the Sooners as well.
Georgia however could change the narrative in his recruitment on Saturday. Imagine a scenario where Georgia dominates Oklahoma all game long. Hall is a defensive lineman, so what if Georgia's defensive line dominates Oklahoma's offense by clogging running lanes and getting multiple sacks? What happens if Oklahoma's defensive line struggles to get any pressure and look severely overmatched throughout the game? Those scenarios could lead Hall to maybe think twice about if Oklahoma actually is the best fit for him.
Predictions are just predictions and they never tell the full story. As long as he remains uncommitted Georgia has a chance to land Hall. Sure the timing of his visit is a bit suspect, but Georgia could use this to their advantage and help convince him to come to UGA with a big win on Saturday.
