Georgia football and Kirby Smart have made it very clear which positions they are targeting the hardest this recruiting cycle. While every position clearly matters, some matter more than others, and one of the most important positions is offensive tackle.

Georgia is seemingly targeting every top offensive tackle in the country this cycle, and a lot of them have included Georgia as one of their finalists as they trim their lists. But that unfortuantely did not happen with a five-star from Texas.

Fleix Ojo cuts Georgia from contenders

Felix Ojo is a five-star offensive tackle from Mansfield, TX. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Ojo is the No. 18 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 3 offensive tackle in the 2026 recruiting class as well as the No. 2 player from his home state of Texas.

Earlier this month, Ojo announced his top eight schools which included Georgia. However, word came out soon after in the form of a prediction from On3's Steve Wiltfong who predicted Ojo to commit to Texas. That obviously is not what any Georgia fan wanted to see, but with so much time left in this cycle the hope was that Smart and his staff could change that and maybe pass the Longhorns.

That however is no longer a possibility after Ojo scheduled his official visits for this summer with Ole Miss, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas and Oklahoma.

The good news for UGA is that they are in a good spot with many of the other top offensive tackles in this class. This includes the two tackles ranked high than Ojo in Jackson Cantwell and Immanuel Iheanacho. So if Georgia is able to land even just one of those two players, then this loss won't end up mattering in the long run.
