Georgia football is always after some of the best recruits in the country every recruiting cycle. Typically that works out in their favor because they are able to get many of these players to commit to UGA and play for Kirby Smart and his staff.
But going after the top players in the country presents a lot of challenges as well because many other elite programs are targeting the same recruits. One of those programs is Alabama, who will always be one of Georgia's biggest competitors on the field as well.
Georgia and Alabama have gone up against each other for the best players in the country for decades now, but it's felt like these programs have been going head to head far more often this cycle than in the past. Many of the battles between these two schools are for five-star recruits, and according to On3 many of these recruitments are trending to Alabama.

4 elite Georgia targets are trending to Alabama
The above post from On3 lists four five-star recruits they believe are trending to Alabama, and unfortunately for Georgia these are four players they have spent a lot of time recruiting as well.
Linebacker Xavier Griffin is the only player on this list from the state of Georgia who recently decommitted from USC. This created a lot of hope for Georgia to be able to get back in the running in this recruitment, but Griffin cancelled his official visit to Athens so Georgia is no longer in the running for Griffin.
Safety Jireh Edwards is someone that was predicted to Georgia only a couple weeks ago, but a few more recent reports indicate that Alabama is the heavy favorite in this recruitment right now. The Tide also lead for running back Ezavier Crowell, who did officially visit Georgia a few weeks ago. This visit went well, but reports inidcated that Alabama still led for him even after his trip to Georgia.
The one player out of this group that Georgia fans should have confidence in landing is wide receiver Cederian Morgan. On3 still has him trending to Alabama, but Georgia QB commit Jared Curtis will be playing summer ball with Morgan. So this could eventually cause Morgan to side with Georgia in the long run.
It will be interesting to see how these recruitments shake out, but for now Alabama has been caught stealing many of Georgia's top recruiting targets this summer.
