Alabama will always be one of Georgia’s biggest competitors on the recruiting trail. The two programs always find themselves competing for the top recruits in the country, and that once again happened as both programs were heavily pursuing five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan.
Morgan had a top four that consisted of Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Colorado. July 2 marked Morgan’s commitment date, and unfortunately for Georgia Morgan chose to commit to Alabama over UGA.

Alabama takes down Georgia for another 5-star recruit
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Morgan is the No. 12 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 1 player from his home state of Alabama.
This isn’t the first time Georgia’s lost a five-star recruit to Alabama this cycle as running back Ezavier Crowell committed to the Tide over Georgia just last week. So for whatever reason, Alabama has had Georgia’s number on the recruiting trail these past few weeks.
Even though that is the case, Georgia fans likely aren’t too worried because UGA has been doing just fine recruiting this class. Georgia just wrapped up the month of June where they earned 18 commitments, which included four-star wide receiver Craig Dandridge. So there really isn’t any reason to be concerned about this loss.
This commitment however is the fourth five-star player Alabama has been able to add to their recruiting class though, so that is concerning when it comes to future games against Alabama. But if everything goes according to plan for Georgia, they could add three more commitments from five-star recruits as well which would match the total Alabama currently has.
So hopefully Georgia is able to get that done, because those three targets all could commit throughout the next month.
