Alabama once again has the upper hand over Georgia. The Crimson Tide just beat Georgia again in Athens last week, but Alabama continues to find a lot of success in the recruiting world over UGA as well.

Their first big recruiting win came when four-star offensive lineman Jatori Williams committed to Alabama almost immediately after the Crimson Tide beat Georgia. Williams visited Georgia for this game, so it seemed like he may have used UGA to get closer to Alabama.

Unfortunately this wasn't the only recruiting loss Georgia suffered at the hands of Alabama as Peach State offensive tackle Jared Doughty just announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on

Georgia loses key OT recruitment to Alabama

Doughty was a former Georgia State commit who backed off of that commitment last month. The reason he chose to decommit was because programs like Georgia and Alabama were beginning to show a lot of interest.

The Bulldogs were the first big school to show interest in him, and that is why many Georgia fans thought this recruitment was UGAs to win. Doughty also visited Athens for the Alabama game as well, so it seemed like Georgia might have been able to win this recruitment during that visit.

Unfortunately the exact opposite happened as Doughty became the second recruit to commit to the Crimson Tide after visiting Georgia for the Alabama game.

The Bulldogs will now have to continue their search for a second offensive tackle commit in the 2026 class. Georgia does have the No. 2 class in the country, but there is a big hole that needs to be filled by an offensive tackle. It remains to be seen who their next target will be to fill that hole, so for now Georgia is going to have to deal with the repercussions of losing another key recruitment to Alabama.
