Saturday marked the first scrimmage for Georgia this spring. This is the best opportunity for every player has to show Kirby Smart and his staff why they deserve to be at the top of the depth chart and get the most playing time later this fall. It is also a chance for players like Gunner Stockton who have been dealing with an injury to show how far they have come in their recovery.
But potentially the most exciting thing about Georgia's first scrimmage is that it gives everyone a chance to see the incoming freshmen class take the field for the first time in a game-like setting.
Tyriq Green is one of those freshman who has come to Athens with a lot of expectations, and he did not disappoint as he was seen running back an interception for a touchdown in the below video.

Tyriq Green proves he is one of Georgia's top true freshmen during Bulldogs' first scrimmage
About halfway through this clip fans can see Green pick of an errant throw and run it all the way back for a touchdown. It's impossible to make out who the quarterback is that threw the pass, but seeing a true freshman make a play like this is exciting to see.
Georgia's secondary was not a strength last season. They were consistently beat over the top and surrendered big plays that forced the offense to have to play perfect to win. The secondary is an area Kirby Smart addressed in the Transfer Portal this year, but he also has a solid group of freshmen defensive backs coming in as well that can help out as well.
Green appears to be the leader of that group and someone who could receive some serious playing time in his first season this fall. It's unlikely that he will become a starter or play a lot, but it's clear that the future of Georgia's secondary is bright because of Green's sudden burst into the limelight.
