Georgia football and Kirby Smart have never been hotter on the recruiting trail in the transfer portal. On Tuesday the Bulldogs earned three commitments out of the transfer portal, which included a second elite wide receiver. But as everyone knows, there is still a lot of work to do before the season next fall, so Smart and his staff have to continue working hard to add more talent to the roster.
And that's exactly what happened on Wednesday when Georgia added a transfer running back who is brothers with a current player.
Vanderbilt transfer RB Micah Bell
Micah Bell is a transfer running back from Vanderbilt who has just announced his commitment to Georgia.
Bell began his collegiate career at Notre Dame in 2023 where he actually played corner and recorded one tackle in three appearances. After the 2023 season he made the move to Vanderbilt where he unfortunately never saw the field. Bell now is making the move once again this time to Georgia, where he projects to be a running back for the Bulldogs.
His last name probably rings a bell (pun intended) as one of Georgia's top wide receivers for next season, Dillon Bell, just announced on Tuesday that he is returning to UGA for one more season. These two are brothers, so this will be quite a fun family reunion to watch over the next year.
It will be interesting to see how Bell fits in at running back because both Trevor Etienne and Nate Frazier will be back for the 2025 season. But Bell is an extremely versatile player, so he likely will be able to carve out a role for himself in the Georgia offense next season.
Georgia will continue to stay active in the portal even after this commitment, so stay tuned as there likely will be another commitment any day now at this rate.
