Georgia football QB Carson Beck has just wrapped up his second season with the Bulldogs, and what an interesting season this was. Nobody will deny that Beck struggled at times this season, but he was still able to lead Georgia to a 10-2 record which earned the Bulldogs a trip to the SEC Championship game.
Georgia went on to win the SEC title against Texas, but Beck was injured on the final play of the first half. This injury ended up being season ending as Beck did not play in the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame and already stated he would not return had Georgia won this game.
A few days before the Sugar Bowl, Beck also announced that he will be entering the 2025 NFL Draft. Beck does have one more year of eligibility remaining, but he appeared set on ending his college career and moving on to the NFL. And after two solid years at Georgia, this decision made a lot of sense.
However, Beck appears to be changing his mind on the NFL. But instead of deciding to return to Georgia, Beck has shockingly decided to enter the transfer portal.
How will Carson Beck be remembered?
Beck’s legacy at Georgia likely just took a massive hit. He clearly had a successful career at Georgia after leading Georgia to a 12-1 record in 2023 and an SEC Championship in 2024, but deciding to enter the transfer portal is beyond shocking.
Beck riding off into the sunset and heading to the NFL would have been the perfect end to his career from Georgia fan’s perspective. Sure he never won a National Championship, but he accomplished a lot in his two seasons as a starter and would have been remembered forever as someone who was a great Bulldog. But that all likely will change after this news.
It remains to be seen where Beck will transfer to, but Georgia fans likely do not want him to stay in the SEC. But on the flip side, it would be fun to play Beck next season and beat him to remind him of what he’s missing out on.
