Carson Beck's slow start in the NFL won't surprise Georgia fans in the slightest.

Carson Beck's relationship to Georgia is a bit strange. He was never as good of a quarterback at Georgia as people expected, but he still brought a lot of success to Georgia during his time with the program.

That success deserves to be celebrated, but the second he transferred to Miami on bad terms there was no shot Geogia fans would cheer him on anymore.

Beck had a good year at Miami and is off to the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals. Just last week he finally came to terms on his rookie contract so he can now put all his focus on practicing with his new team. Unfortunately he is off to a rough start with the Cardinals as his first few days at camp went about as bad as it could go.

Carson Beck's NFL woes are starting early

Beck has always had a tough time controlling his arm. He is the definition of a quarterback with turnover problems, and both Georgia and Miami fans would tell you that immediately.

But it is a bit shocking to see him struggle in practice. It makes sense to struggle in a game when the pressure is ramped up and there are defenses who are actually trying to tackle you, but it's a completely different thing to struggle during camp when your coaching staff is probably trying to ease you into things.

Beck however is really struggling with Arizona. That is tough for the Cardinals because they are hoping that he is their future at quarterback, but so far he has done nothing to prove he is capable of leading an NFL franchise.

Georgia won't be surprised seeing Carson Beck struggle in the NFL

Georgia and Beck did reach a good point in their relationship by the end of last season. This made a majority of Georgia fans no longer actively cheer against him, but they won't be cheering for him either.

Georgia fans however wouldn't be surprised to see him struggle throughout his entire NFL career.

Beck took over Georgia's offense in 2023. He had a phenomenal year that season and had some NFL scouts proclaim that he could be the No. 1 quarterback in the NFL Draft once he decided to turn pro. Expectations were sky high in Athens entering 2024, but he unfortunately did not live up to them.

Georgia lost two regular season games for the first time since the Covid 2020 season in 2024. On top of that, Beck kept throwing the ball to the wrong team as he had a career high 12 interceptions. He also had Georgia losing to Texas at halftime of the 2024 SEC Championship game when he got injured, and if it wasn't for Gunner Stockton's heroics they might not have won that game.

He really didn't get much better in 2025 at Miami as he threw 12 interceptions again. This included a crucial pick late in the National Championship game that clinched their loss to Indiana.

Beck will have a lot of chances to make it in the NFL. So far it is not going well and Georgia fans would probably bet against him having a successful career, but anything is possible.
