This is a laughable statement from Carson Beck.

Georgia football has constantly been in the news this offseason since they lost to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. A lot of that news has surrounded transfer portal commitments, players deciding to come back for one more season or players declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. However, the biggest news of the offseason so far for Georgia, if not in all of college football, is when Carson Beck announced that he was transferring to Miami (FL) for his final season of college football.

This news was shocking for a lot of reasons, one being that he already declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. But most did not think he would ever play college football anywhere other than Georgia if he changed his mind and returned to college football. But that clearly was not the case as he chose Miami over a return to Georgia.

Everyone who follows college football even a little bit has an opinion on this move, and many college football experts and insiders have shared their take on this decision from Beck as well. But everyone has been waiting to hear from Beck himself, and that finally happened in a recent interview with 247Sports.

This interview is behind a paywall, so if you are a subscriber to 247Sports then you can read the full article here. But Gaby Urrutia who wrote this post publicly shared one quote from Beck, and it's something no one thought Beck would ever say.

"First and foremost it's Miami."

Is Carson Beck really trying to compare Miami to Georgia?

Did Beck actually try to compare Miami to Georgia? The Hurricanes are one of the top programs in the country from a historical standpoint, but over the last two decades they have been nothing but disappointment. Georgia on the other hand has been one of the top programs in the country if not the very best over the last few years, so this proclamation from Beck is borderline insane.

Beck did share a lot of other details about his commitment to Miami, why he chose the Hurricanes and what he is looking forward to once he gets going with the program, but this one quote shared on social media is enough to upset some Georgia fans.

But at the end of the day, nothing Beck will say will impact Georgia. The Bulldogs have had an excellent offseason so far and are putting the pieces together to make another run at a conference championship and College Football Playoff appearance. History says that UGA has a great chance to accomplish these things while also saying that Miami will not accomplish either, so it will be extremely interesting to see how the 2025 season plays out for both teams.
