CBS Sports analysts ranks Georgia lower than any other ranking

Georgia football doesn't deserve to be as low in these rankings as they are.

Let me begin by saying that the AP Poll rankings are one of the worst rankings in all of college football. They are far too biased to some teams and fail to recognize how good some smaller teams are that usually aren't amongst the best of the best year in and year out like Georgia football.

That's why other rankings, including the College Football Playoff rankings, are much more respected than the AP Poll now. This includes some individual analysts who over time have proven they are unbiased and have very respectable rankings most weeks.

That however wasn't the case with CBS Sports' Danny Kanell's rankings this week.

Now don't get me wrong, the little guy deserves more love than they usually get, especially in the AP Poll, but it's also important to not overdo it. Kanell overdid it with these rankings.

Georgia at No. 6? After their fairly dominant road win against Texas last weekend? And after they blew out his No. 7 Clemson Tigers in week one? That just makes no sense.

Another thing that doesn't make any sense are some of the teams he placed in front of Georgia. Obviously nobody should have an issue with Oregon being No. 1. Undefeated Penn State and Miami being ranked above UGA is fair, even if most Georgia fans probably disagree with it. But Indiana and BYU? What are we even doing here?

They do deserve a lot of credit for the seasons they are having. Both BYU and Indiana are undefeated and are 100 percent teams that look ready to compete in this year's College Football Playoffs and maybe even win a game, but you can't convince me that they are better than Georgia. The main reason being their schedules and how they haven't played any legit competition yet to this day.

Both teams will have their chance this season to prove themseleves against some really good teams, but analysts should wait to rank them this high until they prove it on the field, like Kirby Smart and Georgia have done multiple times.
