Georgia football running back Chauncey Bowens was one of the stars for UGA in their win over Florida on Saturday.
Bowens may have only received nine carries against the Gators, but he made the most of them by racking up 70 yards. But the best moment for him by far came in the fourth quarter when he put Georgia on top with a game-winning 36 yard touchdown run.
This would be a big moment for Bowens against any team, but it was a little extra special because it came against Florida. Not only is he from the state of Florida, but he was once committed to the Gators while still in high school. But apparently Florida no longer wanted him in their recruiting class, and Bowens made sure to call them out for their mistake after the game.
“They (Florida) didn’t want me. Now they know.”

Chauncey Bowens finally got his revenge vs Florida
This game had a little extra meaning for Bowens. As mentioned, Bowens was once committed to Florida in high school but he eventually flipped his commitment to Georgia after an official visit in the summer. On paper this just seemed like Georgia swooping in and stealing him from the Gators, but it now sounds like Florida didn't even want him anymore.
And what a mistake that was.
Bowens leads Georgia in rushing this season with 446 yards. He's also second in rushing touchdowns with five which only trails Gunner Stockton. This is a level of production that any team could use, but it's quite funny to see Georgia enjoy his success knowing that he could be doing this at Florida if they didn't turn their back on him.
Bowens is going to be a critical piece for Georgia the rest of this season. He has cemented himself as one of Georgia's top running backs, and he will continue to receive a lot of carries every game. And if he continues performing at this high of a level then Georgia's offense is only going to keep getting better.
