Official visit season for the college football world is in full swing as the first big recruiting weekend of the summer is this weekend. Georgia football is bringing in nearly 20 impressive recruits on official visits this weekend, and the hope is UGA will be able to earn some commitments after this weekend.

There is a good chance Georgia could accomplish that considering an insider shared seven recruits visiting this weekend who they believe will end up signing with Georgia. While improving their position with those recruits is very important for Kirby Smart and his staff, they also have their eyes set on a couple recruits committed to other programs who are in town as well.

Flip candidates are always the most fun recruitments to follow, but on the flip side it’s scary when other schools are targeting Georgia’s commits. Unfortunately for Georgia, one team getting in their way this weekend is Clemson.

Clemson isn’t hosting anyone currently committed to Georgia, but there are three recruits the Bulldogs are seriously pursuing that are visiting Clemson this weekend.

3 Georgia targets visiting Clemson this weekend

The first Georgia target visiting Clemson is four-star running back Jae Lamar. Lamar is a top 10 back in the country who was actually just officially predicted to commit to UGA. So hopefully his visit to Clemson doesn’t go well enough where the tides start to shift win their favor.

On top of Lamar, there are two five-star visitors also visiting Clemson that Georgia is heavily pursuing as well. These recruits are five-star offensive lineman Darius Gray, who already officially visited Georgia earlier in May, and five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson. Atkinson is one of the recruits Georgia’s wants the most as he is an in-state prospect and the top ranked linebacker in the country. Georgia is the favorite to win his recruitment, but Clemson is the team reportedly having the most success catching up to Georgia.

And it unfortunately looks like Atkinson is excited for his trip to Clemson.

Georgia fans will find out after this weekend how these visits to Clemson went, but there is a very real chance Clemson becomes the leader for each recruit.
