Former Georgia football star David Pollack has had a lot to say when it comes to Carson Beck's decision to transfer to Miami (FL) for his final season of college football. Pollack has already shared some reasons why he thinks Beck decided to go to Miami in the first place, but his comments about this news have not ended yet.

However, instead of commenting on this decision from Beck, Pollack looked to the things Beck did after Georgia beat Texas in the SEC Championship game. Everyone knows by now that Beck suffered a season ending injury during this game, so it isn't a surprise to hear that his time with the team decreased during their preparations for the Sugar Bowl. But as the starting QB for the past two seasons, one would expect Beck to get back with the team as soon as possible to help out in any way that he can.

That however did not happen as Beck did not join the team until a day or two before the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame. And even though he was with the team, he was nowhere near being mentally checked in as he did not help the team out at all.

Pollack noticed this, and shared his thoughts about Beck's actions as well as what others in the football world have told him as well.

“You (Beck) leaving the team and going elsewhere during bowl season,” Pollack said via ugawire.usetoday.com. “I can just put it to you like this… talking to people in these realms that says a lot in a negative direction.”

Carson Beck may not be the leader everyone once thought he was

As mentioned, nobody should have expected Beck to be at every single practice leading up to the bowl game, especially as he was still trying to learn how injured he was and what his options towards recovery were. But to not show up until right before the game is a little shocking.

This shows us that Beck is not a very good leader. A true leader would want to be there for his teammates as much as possible, especially Gunner Stockton who was making his first collegiate start. That unfortunately did not happen as it sounds like Beck hardly did anything to help the team against the Irish.

Knowing this now, maybe Beck moving on to Miami was the best thing for Georgia. The Bulldogs need a quarterback who is not only a great player on the field, but a strong leader as well. And so far Stockton has shown that he is that person and can be that player next fall if he wins the starting job.
