Donte Wright is one of Georgia's top commits in the 2027 recruiting class. He is an elite defensive back who is on the verge of becoming a five-star, so it is critical for Georgia to keep him in their recruiting class.

Unfortunately there have been a lot of reports indicating that Wright is still looking at other schools. While other reports have shown he is still locked in with Georgia, a scheduled official visit to Miami ends all the positive vibes UGA has been receiving from him.

Donte Wright is giving Kirby Smart a lot to worry about

Wright has been committed to Georgia since last summer. At the time he was the Bulldogs highest ranked commit and today he is still the second highest ranked commit. He has been a staple of this recruiting class and has even helped recruit other players to Georgia as well, but this new report changes everything.

He is still committed to Georgia, and UGA should be thankful for that, but they have a lot to worry about now. Miami is known to throw a lot of money at top recruits, and they have had success doing that in the past with recruits committed to Georgia like Wright is. So that fact alone is extremely concerning.

It is also worrisome that Miami isn't the only school making progress with him either as Michigan is confident they will receive an official visit from him as well.

At this point it is impossible to say if Georgia will hold on and sign Wright to their recruiting class. The Bulldogs still appear to be the favorite, but that can change in a heartbeat.

And based on how Wright has been acting the last few months, it is starting to feel more and more like he will eventually decommit.
