Georgia or Oregon. That is who the recruitment for five-star quarterback Jared Curtis has come down to.
Curtis has a commitment date set for May 5, but with only a month remaining in his recruitment there is still very little known as to who the leader is. There are good reasons why both schools should feel confident in their chances, but as it stands today no one is 100 percent sure where Curtis is leaning.
But that won’t stop people from making their best guess like ESPN's Eli Lederman just did.
"The same relationships that landed Georgia Curtis' initial commitment this past March should win out again in a tight recruitment, particularly with the Bulldogs expected to step up their NIL efforts with the 2026 class in the wake of several misses with top recruits in recent cycles," Lederman shared via ugawire.usatoday.com.
Mixed signals in Curtis’s recruitment
While it is nice to see that at least one person likes Georgia’s chances to land Curtis for the second time, that isn’t necessarily the case with everyone. In fact, On3 just recently named Oregon as the leader for Curtis after previously giving that honor to Georgia.
So what does this tell college football fans? It tells everyone that no one knows where Curtis is going to go. And that sentiment will remain the case until an expert from Georgia or Oregon finally logs an official prediction themselves.
Who knows however if that will even happen. Curtis has been keeping his recruitment close to his chest since narrowing his focus down to the Bulldogs and Ducks, so there’s a chance no one knows where he’ll go until May 5 when he announces. And in a day and age when so much information is out there about every recruitment, it would be fun to get to a commitment date for a high profile recruit without knowing where he is going to commit.
