Stetson Bennett continues to wait patiently in Los Angeles for his first real opportunity in the NFL. He is yet to take a meaningful snap in an NFL regular season game, but that doesn't mean he isn't ready to lead an NFL offense.

Bennett has one more year left on his contract with the Rams and he once again will be the backup to Matthew Stafford this season. Georgia fans know how spoiled LA is to have a backup as good as Bennett, but ESPN believes he is the Rams biggest weakness heading into this season.

“The only position that would really scare me right now if I were the Rams is at quarterback, which is weird to say given that the reigning league MVP will be returning (after his usual contract renegotiation) in 2026,” Bill Barnwell said via espn.com.

ESPN continues to doubt Stetson Bennett to Georgia fan's dismay

Did this ESPN reporter do an ounce of research before spewing this nonsense? If they did they would realize that Bennett was one of the top performers during the NFL preseason last year.

Sure that was just the preseason and not the regular season, but it has to count for something. How can anyone in good faith be this against a player who hasn't started in the regular season yet in their career? Countless players ride the bench for years then prove they are the best of the best once they get an opportunity, and Bennett has a chance to be the league's next example of that.

Look no further than Tom Brady who rode the bench at the start of his career before becoming the greatest quarterback of all time.

No Georgia fan will be bold enough to say that Bennett will have a career like Brady, but he doesn't deserve to be viewed in this bad of a lense. The good news is that Bennett will eventually get a chance to start in the regular season so he can prove people like this ESPN reporter wrong.
