The first day of any transfer portal window might be the craziest day of the college football calendar. Wednesday marked the first day of the spring transfer window, and fans across the country were sitting on the edge of their seats as they waited to see what happened to their team.
No matter how good of a culture someone might think their school has, there is always a chance their star player could enter the portal. There is even a chance an entire position group decides to skip town, as seen with Cal as their top nine rushers from the 2024 season have all entered the portal.
Georgia football fans had plenty of reasons to be anxious on Wednesday as well, but what was a wild day across college football was actually a pretty mild day in Athens as Georgia only had one player enter the portal.
This may not seem like a big deal, but it speaks to how great Kirby Smart's culture is at Georgia because over 1,000 players in college football entered the transfer portal on Wednesday alone.

What to expect from Georgia going forward
On top of only having one player enter the portal, Georgia also scheduled two visits with transfers which includes North Carolina EDGE Beau Atkinson and Army EDGE Elo Modozie. These two transfers are two of the top players at EDGE currently in the portal, so that also speaks to how great of a culture others think Georgia has as well.
So while this start to the transfer portal window was nearly perfect for UGA, it likely won't remain that way. Georgia currently is above the set roster limit, so that means some Bulldogs will have to leave at some point.
Who knows who those players will be, but it should not be surprising when some Bulldogs inevitably end up hitting the portal. However, that won't take away from the fact that it is extremely impressive to only have one player enter the portal on the first day it opens.
