Kirby Smart has been putting a lot of effort into finding Georgia’s quarterback commit in the 2027 class. Unfortunately he has not had any luck yet, but that hasn’t stopped him from putting his best foot forward with multiple recruits.
One of the recruits he has prioritized the most recently is four-star Davin Davidson. He not only is one of the top recruits from Florida but he also is one of the top quarterbacks in the country, so he would be a huge addition to the program.
Unfortunately he chose to stay close to home and commit to the Florida Gators earlier this week which sent Smart back to the drawing board.

Florida takes down Georgia for 4-star Davin Davidson
Losing any recruit to Florida is never ideal. That is even the case even with a recruit like Davidson where it makes sense that he wanted to stay close to home. But it’s still a little discouraging to see him pick Florida over Georgia.
Another reason why this loss makes sense is because of Georgia quarterback commit Jayden Wade. He might be in the 2028 class while Davidson is in the 2027 class, but Wade being the No. 1 recruit in the 2028 recruiting class could discourage other QBs even in other classes from coming to Athens as well.
That fact however might not deter Elijah Haven who is a five-star QB in the 2027 class. His commitment date is right around the corner and Georgia is one of his finalists. Alabama has been trending for awhile now, but Haven made a surprise visit to Athens this week. This means that Georgia still has a chance to win his recruitment, but only time will tell.
But for now Florida gets to celebrate this victory over Georgia, but if Haven shocks the world and commits to Georgia in a couple weeks that will shut them up quick.
