The first injury report for Georgia's upcoming matchup this weekend against Florida was released Wednesday night. This report was great news for Georgia based on the fact that three key players could all make their return this Saturday when UGA takes the field againt Florida.

Florida also got some good news as wide receiver Vernell Brown, who's been great this season when healthy, is probable to play after missing their previous three games. This news however was overshadowed by Florida's top two quarterbacks both being questionable to play this weekend.

Georgia could have a new WR to worry about against Florida

Let's first begin with the problem that is Vernell Brown. He has played in four of Florida's seven games this season where he racked up 17 receptions for 271 yards and two touchdowns. That is a solid level of production that could be returning for Florida this weekend and someone that Georgia's secondary won't be able to ignore.

Florida had one of the top scoring offenses in the country earlier this season. They have since fallen off over the past few weeks, but that fall off occurred when Brown was no longer in the lineup. He could end up being the piece that Florida needs to take their offense up a notch to the level they were playing at earlier this season, but that remains to be seen.

His return may ultimately not matter though because Florida's top two quarterbacks are both questionable to play this weekend.

Florida's potential problem at QB overshadowed Vernell Brown injury update

Florida could have a big problem on their hands when they face Georgia this weekend. Aaron Philo and Tramell Jones are the two options for Florida at quarterback, and at the start of this week head coach Jon Sumrall said that he doesn't know who is going to start for them. That quote was a bit surprising to see at first, but as time has gone in it's been confirmed that both players are dealing with injuries.

That fact was proven Wednesday night when both players were marked questionable to play against Georgia on Florida's official injury report.

Philo won the starting job out of fall camp and started the Gators' first six games. He has a 4-2 record this season as their starter which includes a big win over Ole Miss, but he also played a part in their two losses. Jones on the other hand is 1-0 as a starter after he filled in for Philo two weeks ago in their big win over Texas.

Jones may be a bigger threat to Georgia's defense since he is a better runner than Philo. He however has thrown two interceptions this season in limited playing time, so his arm may not be as strong.

Right now it isn't clear who Georgia is going to face at quarterback this weekend. There is a chance that neither player is able to go which would benefit Georgia greatly, but if one of them is healthy enough to play then Georgia's defense will have to be prepared for a tough battle.
