Georgia has a handful of really good players committed to their 2027 recruiting class. They however used to have a lot more, but some decided they no longer wanted to play for Georgia so they flipped to other schools.
Defensive back Donte Wright is one of those players as he flipped to Miami earlier this summer. Since then Georgia has really struggled to find someone to replace him, and with every passing day there is more regret that keeps building surrounding losing his commitment.
That regret reached an all time high when he was named one of the top performers at a Rivals camp last week.

Georgia could really use a player like Donte Wright right now?
Wright is a five-star defensive back in the 2027 recruiting class. He wasn't always a five-star recruit, but after he committed to Georgia he slowly climbed up the recruiting rankings and eventually earned his fifth star.
It is extremely difficult to find a player of Wright's caliber, but those schools that do are able to witness their defense immediately get better as they are capable of shutting down the entire half of the field.
But Kirby Smart is going to have to look elsewhere to find his replacement as Wright has since shut his recruitment down, but so far he has had absolutely no luck in finding anyone.
Donte Wright put Georgia's 2027 recruiting class in a dangerous spot
Once upon a time Georgia had two top 100 defensive backs committed to their 2027 recruiting class. Wright was the star of the two, but they also had Jerry Outhouse who was ranked inside the top 100 as well. But Wright made the move to Miami and Outhouse flipped to UCLA, and that left Georgia with zero defensive back commits.
These two players ditched Georgia a few months ago now, but Smart still hasn't been able to find another defensive back to take their place. That is a serious problem now that the calendar is flipping to July.
It may be impossible to find recruits as talented as Wright and Outhouse are, but Georgia needs to find a few guys in a hurry. Typically Georgia likes to add four or five defensive backs in every recruiting class if not a few more, but that will be extremely difficult to accomplish since they have zero at this point in time.
Smart should never be doubted, but at this point it is getting really concerning that he hasn't found even one defensive back that wants to play for Georgia.
