The SEC is going to look brand new next season thanks to the countless head coaches who have already been fired this year. Auburn was the latest school to let their coach go as they fired Hugh Freeze on Sunday, and the Tigers join LSU, Florida and Arkansas as the SEC programs who will look for a new head coach this offseason.
It's anyone's guess who will be the next head coach at all four of these schools will be, but Georgia Defensive Coordinator Glenn Schumann was predicted to be the next head coach at Florida. Schumann hasn't shared if he has any interest in leaving Georgia yet or not, but former star quarterback Aaron Murray has stated that he has a lot of interest in these head coach openings.
Feels like half of the SEC will have a new HC in 2026!

Former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray discusses his interest in becoming a head coach
Murray made it very clear in the beginning of his social media post that he is interested in the four head coach openings in the SEC. However, scrolling to the end of his post he makes it clear that he is just joking.
Murray has a great thing going in the social media space as he runs a very successful college football show that many people tune into every week. So it would be a little silly for him to leave his job as an analyst on his own show to take over a struggling SEC program.
These schools also wouldn't have much interest in him since he doesn't have any experience as a coach. So if Murray does want to become a head coach in the future he needs to start as an assistant and work his way up.
But the thought of Murray becoming a head coach at a different SEC school is quite fun to imagine. He definitely seems like someone who could excel in that roll, so it's probably a good thing for Georgia that he sticks with his current job instead of taking over a program where he would work to dethrone UGA as the best program in the SEC.
