Georgia still has everything in front of them at the College World Series after defeating Texas 7-1 on Saturday. Up next for Georgia is another SEC rival in Oklahoma who won their CWS opener against Alabama in dominant fashion as well by a final score of 9-0.

This game is the most important for Georgia yet this season. If they win they will only need to win once more to reach the National Championship series, and they would have two attempts to get that win.

But Monday's matchup against Oklahoma is extra special for Georgia's captain Kolby Branch because he will face his brother Kyle who is a star infielder for the Sooners.

Kolby Branch will face younger borther Kyle at the College World Series

No Georgia fan needs to be told how impactful Branch is for their team. He not only is a great all-around player with his 58 RBIs and 19 home runs this season, but he is the engine of this Georgia team that has been their leader all season long.

His younger brother Kyle is only a sophomore for the Sooners, so he doesn't have the same leadership role that Kolby does. But he is a big time contributor that will make an impact on Monday's game one way or another.

Kyle has played in 59 games for the Sooners this season and has earned 55 starts all at second base. He is batting .220 this season with 21 RBIs and three home runs this year as well. Kyle didn't have the best game against Alabama at the CWS on Saturday, but he played a huge role in their upset wins over No. 2 Georgia Tech in the Atlanta Regional earlier in the NCAA Tournament.

Monday will be a special moment for both brothers as well as their family as they get to play against each other on the biggest stage college baseball has to offer. They may turn into enemies for a few hours once the first pitch is thrown, but there might be a small part of them that still wants to see their brother play well even if they are opponents.

Georgia has a chance to take compete control of their CWS destiny against Oklahoma

Georgia has a chance to take complete control of their four-team bracket at the College World Series against Oklahoma.

Georgia's season won't be over if they lose, but a loss would send them to the loser's bracket where they will need to win three games in a row just to make it to the National Championship series. That is a reality no one will want to face.

If Georgia beats Oklahoma though then they will advance to the final game in their bracket needing to win just one game in two tries to advance to the three-game National Championship series.

It can't be overstated just how important this game is. So far Georgia has passed every test they've faced as they are a perfect 6-0 in the NCAA Tournament, but if they want to have a great chance to win a national title they will need to make their record 7-0 come Monday night.

The Branch brothers will battle it out on Monday, June 15 with first pitch between Georgia and Oklahoma scheduled for 7:00 pm EST.
