Jaxon Dollar is one of Georgia’s prized commits in the 2027 recruiting class, and during his recent high school game he proved why he is one of the nation’s top players.
Dollar is the No. 1 tight end in the country, so it wasn’t surprising when he had 123 receiving yards with a touchdown. It was a bit shocking to see him play so well on defense though because not only did he get a sack, but he snagged an interception which he returned for a touchdown as well.

5-star TE Jaxon Dollar proved he can do it all
It isn’t uncommon for players in high school to play on both sides of the ball. Many of Georgia’s commits do, but they usually don’t dominate as much as Dollar did at their second position. He however proved that he may be just as good on defense as he is on offense.
This does't mean Dollar will play on both sides of the football in college. In fact, there is basically a zero percent chance that ever happens. Having the ability to dominate on defense though will help him see the field different from everyone else. He will be able to better understand what the defense is doing on every play and how to take advantage of it, and that could help him see the field early in his career.
So even though he won't play defense at Georgia it is still nice to see him play so well on that side of the ball in high school.
What Georgia fans can expect from Jaxon Dollar in Athens
Georgia's tight end room is loaded this season. They could be the deepest tight end room in the country, and Dollar will join that group next year and make it even better.
This could make it challenging for him to get significant playing time as a true freshman in 2027, but he has the talent to still make a serious push for playing time. He however isn't discouraged from the depth of Georgia's tight end room as he in the past has said that helped him choose Georgia because he wants to compete with the best.
So even though he may not play a lot as a freshman, he will be preparing behind the scenes with one of the best tight end rooms in the country which will help him get even better as he progresses in his career.
It will be interesting to watch how the rest of his high school season unfolds. He's already the No. 1 tight end in the country, and with more performances like this it's hard to see that title ever being taken from him.
