The Georgia Bulldogs look to continue their road win streak when they head to Starkville to play Mississippi State on Saturday.

These two teams do not often face off on the football field. In fact, they have only played each other 27 times. However, Georgia has completed dominated Mississippi State over those 27 games, but can they repeat history on Saturday?

Georgia's dominating history over Mississippi State

In the 27 times the Bulldogs have played Mississippi State, Georgia has won 21 matchups. Georgia currently owns a five game win streak over Mississippi State and they have not beaten Georgia since 2010. Mississippi State also has not beaten Georgia in Athens since 1956. Saturday's game will be played in Starkville, so Mississippi State's nearly 70-year drought will have to live on for at least another year.

Georgia also owns the largest margin of victory as well as the longest win streak over the Bulldogs. Georgia shut out the Bulldogs 47-0 in 1997 to give them the largest margin of victory in the series. The Dawgs also held a nine-game winning streak from 1975-2006.

The last time Georgia played in Starkville was in 2022 when the Dawgs won 45-19 en route to their eventua; National Championship. In that game, Stetson Bennett threw for three touchdowns and ran for one as well. Ladd McConkey was also a key player, leading the team both in receiving and rushing yards after having a 70-yard rushing touchdown to open up the second half of that game.

Georgia vs Mississippi State today

Despite history, Mississippi State is a challenging opponent for Georgia on Saturday. Mississippi State is led by quarterback Blake Shapen who has passed for over 2,000 yards on the year and thrown for 15 touchdowns. MSU has also found a way to scare some of the SEC's premier teams as they came within seven of beating both Texas and Tennessee and within two points of beating the Florida Gators.

Georgia will need to clean some things up after the Florida scare to get back on track and win in Starkville. The Bulldogs have had some uncharacteristic mistakes on defense, and Mississippi State will look to exploit that with their Air Raid offense. It should be entertaining to see how these two teams will stack up against each other on Saturday.
