Georgia basketball is fresh off arguably their best week of basketball in who knows how long. Mike White and the Bulldogs entered last week sitting at 12-2 and 0-1 in SEC play, but that all changed in a hurry as UGA earned two massive ranked wins at home.

The first win came agaisnt No. 6 Kentucky who they beat in convincing fashion 82-69. A few days after this huge win, Georgia beat another ranked opponent in No. 17 Oklahoma 72-62.

The one thing on the mind of every Georgia fan after these wins was if the Bulldogs would finally be ranked in the AP Poll. Georgia has not been inside the top 25 since 2011, but that all changed Monday afternoon when Georgia finally entered the AP Poll.

Georgia enters the AP Poll for first time since 2011

After this amazing week of Georgia basketball, the Bulldogs officially enter the AP Poll as the No. 23 team in the country. There is a great argument for UGA to be even higher, but every Georgia fan will be happy with just being included.

The bad news for Georgia is that there is a chance they lose this ranking by next week. The Bulldogs face two of the top teams in the SEC this week, with their first game of the week coming at No. 6 Tennessee. After that, Georgia heads home where they will take on the No. 1 team in the country in the Auburn Tigers.

Georgia will most certainly exit the AP Poll if they lose both games, but winning one of these games would likely keep them in. Obviously Georgia wants to win both, but the more realistic expectation is pulling off one of these upsets, which the Bulldogs have more than proven is a legit possibility.
