There were countless updates that hit Georgia on Tuesday that grabbed the attention of Bulldog fans. This included a former Bulldog deciding to transfer to a rival along with an extremely positive update involving the No. 1 football player from the state of Georgia.

But let’s first begin with some bad news today as Georgia’s pursuit of a player committed to Alabama officially came up short.

Georgia's efforts to flip 5-star Alabama commit fall short

One of Georgia's most recent commits was a player they flipped from SEC foe Vanderbilt. Now Kirby Smart and Georgia were attempting to ride the waves of that win to try and flip five-star corner Jorden Edmonds who is currently committed to Alabama.

This flip would be much more difficult to pull off because Alabama is a much better program than Vanderbilt. But Edmonds is from the state of Georgia, so that gave UGA fans some hope. Unfortunately Edmonds officially said no to Georgia's attempts at flipping him, so he is ultimately sticking with the Tide.

Georgia baseball infielder is heading to rival Georgia Tech

The introduction of the transfer portal in college athletics has caused many wild stories to occur all throughout the country. This has even been the case at Georgia where countless decisions have been made that have left fans scratching their heads.

That once again happened on Tuesday as Georgia baseball infielder Case Brown announced that he will be transferring to Georgia Tech.

The Bulldogs play the Yellow Jackets every season, so it will be interesting to see how this meeting goes next year with a former Bulldog in the opposite dugout.

Georgia is trending well with 5-star LB Tyler Atkinson

The one recruit at the top of Georgia's recruiting board is five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson, who is the No. 1 linebacker in the country and top ranked player from the Peach State. Georgia hosted Atkinson this past weekend on an official visit, and they needed to knock this visit out of the park because schools like Clemson, Oregon and Ohio State have been making up a lot of ground.

Thankfully it sounds like Georgia is still trending well for Atkinson as Rivals insider Adam Gorney said it would be a "major surprise" for Atkinson to not eventually commit to Georgia.

This doesn't mean that Smart and his staff can slow down their recruiting efforts with Atkinson, but things are about as good as they can be in this recruitment for the Bulldogs.
