Georgia’s No. 1 priority right now is holding onto Jayden Wade’s commitment. He is a five-star recruit and the top ranked quarterback in the 2028 class, and as of now he wants to be a Bulldog.
It won’t be easy to keep his commitment with the countless big name programs after him, but he recently gave Georgia a good chuckle for how he chose to deal with Auburn.

Since Wade committed to Georgia last year there have been plenty of programs that have attempted to flip him. Most of those schools are fellow blue bloods like Alabama and Michigan, but Auburn just took their shot at him as well.
Wade however was not interested. Not only did he shoot them down, but he reaffirmed his commitment to Georgia the same day word got out that Auburn was pursuing him.
It’s funny enough that Auburn thought they had a chance with him, but it’s even better that Wade turned them down this fast. Wade was already going to be a good fit for Georgia on ability alone, but how he feels about Auburn makes him even better.
Georgia vs Tennessee State Week 1 odds drastically changed
Georgia originally opened as a 50.5 point favorite over Tennessee State for their week one matchup this season. After just a few days though they are now only favored by 46.5 points according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Odds adjust periodically and are subject to change.
This drastic shift means that college football bettors were hammering Tennessee State to cover the original spread. The likely reason they were so confident is due to Georgia's 0-15-1 record against the spread when favored by at least 38.5 points during Kirby Smart's tenure.
At the end of the day it doesn't really matter if Georgia covers this spread or not. Fans will want to see Georgia win by a wide margin, but winning by 30 and winning by 50 isn't that different.
Former Georgia Bulldogs in the NFL have a chance to come back to Athens
A new court ruling on Friday will allow college athletes from the 2022 recruiting class who just finished their fourth year of eligibility to return back to college for one more year. It remains to be seen if the NCAA will allow this to actually happen or not, but some undrafted NFL players are already looking to head back to school.
Smart will have to decide if he is okay with this or not, but if he does he will have a couple options that make a lot of sense. Cash Jones at running back could help replace transfer Dante Dowell who tore his ACL this offseason. Dillon Bell and Noah Thomas could also come in and provide Georgia's wide receiver room with some much needed veteran depth as well.
Georgia's season begins in five weeks, so it would be challenging for any player to return and be ready to play on time. Smart however seems like the type of coach who won't allow ex-NFL players back, so this may end up having zero impact on Georgia.
