Georgia football once again saw a lot of recruiting updates impact their program on Friday. A five-star running back that the Bulldogs are extremely interested shared a big update on Friday while a class of 2027 quarterback named Georgia as one of his top school as well.

But let's first begin with the two Georgia targets that will be announcing their commitments on Saturday.

Georgia on verge of earning two impressive commitments on July 12

July12 is an extremely significant day for Georgia on the recruiting trail. The Bulldogs have a chance to earn not one, but two commitments from two of the top players in the country on Saturday.

The first announcement will come from safety Tyriq Green, who is the No. 151 overall player in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Green is scheduled to announce his commitment at 4:00 pm EST and will decide between Georgia, Miami (FL) and Auburn.

Then just 30 minutes after Green's decision, five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro will announce his commitment between Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Texas and Auburn.

Both recruits have been predicted to Georgia, so there is a good chance that UGA fans will have a lot to celebrate Saturday afternoon. However, there is always a chance Georgia loses one or both of these battles, so anything is possible until they announce their decision.

5-star RB Derrek Cooper announces new commitment date

Five-star running back Derrek Cooper is one of the most important recruits left on Georgia's recruiting board. Cooper originally planned to also commit on July 12, but he cancelled that plan a couple weeks ago.

Fast forward to Friday however and Cooper shared that he will now announce his commitment on July 20.

Cooper has named five finalists which includes Georgia, Florida State, Miami (FL), Texas and Ohio State. This will be a tough group to beat, but a few recruiting experts believe the Bulldogs are currently the team to beat.

2027 QB proclaims Georgia as a "top school"

Georgia fans haven't been paying much attention to quarterbacks ever since Jared Curtis committed to UGA back in May. But Kirby Smart and his staff know better than that, so they have begun their pursuit of their quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class.

Up until this point there hasn't been too many QBs who have seem super excited about Georgia, but that changed on Friday when four-star Peach State quarterback Teddy Jarrard shared that the Bulldogs are one of his top schools right now.
