In just a few days Georgia will get their opportunity to bounce back after losing to Auburn two weeks ago. Up next is a Florida team who is capable of pulling off an upset this weekend, and they are doing everything they can this week leading into the game to try and find an advantage.
Florida refuses to announce a starter at QB
Florida has two quarterbacks in Aaron Philo and Tramell Jones Jr who are great players. Philo is Florida's preferred starter who has started six games this season, but Jones stepped in against Texas two weeks ago and led the Gators to an upset win while Philo was hurt.
Both quarterback reportedly are practicing injured this week. Florida head coach Jon Sumrall hasn't said which QB he expects to play against Georgia, and that unknown could make life difficult for UGA's defense as they try to prepare for both players.
It isn't likely that both players will be ruled out due to their injuries, so Georgia's defense will probably have to face one of these guys who have proven to be solid players this season. Georgia might be better off facing Philo since he isn't as effective of a runner, but whoever Florida plays will be challenge for Georgia to defend.
Chauncey Bownes could be back sooner than expected
Chauncey Bowens has been out for the last two games with an unknown injury. This injury though was reported to be relatively significant with the expectation that it could keep him out for much of the season.
Tuesday night though an update came out that shared that he was practicing on Tuesday. He only participated in agility drills though, so he still has some work to do to get fully healthy. This likely means he won't be able to play against Florida this weekend, but he could be back sooner than expected.
This update also shared that he is dealing with a toe injury. Those injuries can linger because any amount of discomfort can significantly impact his effectiveness as a runner, but it's looking like Bowens should be back before the end of the season.
Georgia vs Ole Miss game time announcement
After Georgia's game against Florida this weekend the Bulldogs will hit the road to face Ole Miss. The Rebels are one of the best teams in the SEC, but they have already lost two games this season and have proven to be beatable.
The kickoff time for this matchup was announced earlier this week and Georgia was dealt another tough hand as this game will begin at 7:30 pm EST. This is their second road night game of the season while the Bulldogs are yet to receive a home night game.
Georgia did beat Alabama at night earlier this season, so they won't be afraid of playing Ole Miss under the lights. This game time however should create one of the toughest environments Georgia will play in this season though which will make winning more difficult.
