There is no sugarcoating this, Georgia football is in trouble with a top ranked recruit who is scheduled to announce his commitment on May 13. So let’s dive right in, because a major report surfaced Monday night that every Georgia fan needs to know.

Miami’s late push for Jackson Cantwell

Today is the day that five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell announces his commitment. The No. 1 overall player in the country has been trending to Georgia the last few days, but a new report surfaced Monday night that is bad news for UGA.

Multiple recruiting experts are now saying that Miami (FL) is making a late push for Cantwell, with some saying they wouldn’t be surprised to see Cantwell commit to Georgia or the Hurricanes. Cantwell will announce his commitment at 3:45 pm EST on May 13, but unfortunately at this point it isn’t a certainty that he will be choosing Georgia.

New 5-star offensive lineman visiting Georgia

Speaking of five-star offensive lineman, Georgia will have another visiting Athens this weekend. Five-star interior offensive lineman Darius Gray will take his official visit to Georgia this weekend, which marks the second five-star lineman to visit UGA in as many weeks.

Gray has a few other visits scheduled throughout June, so there is no reason to expect Georgia to receive any good news immediately after this visit. But Kirby Smart and his staff are putting themselves in position with one of the top players in the country, which is all they can do at this point in Gray’s recruitment.

Josh Pate is not high on Georgia this season

News flash, Georgia will not be the favorite to win the National Championship this season. In fact, they may not be the favorite to win the SEC as everyone is picking Texas to win the conference this year. But one thing everyone should agree on is that Georgia should still be one of the 10 best teams in the country.

CBS Sports analyst Josh Pate does not agree with that however. Pate has Georgia as his No. 11 team in the country while also having a whopping five SEC teams ranked above them. These teams include Texas, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma and Florida.

Some of these teams have a great argument to be above Georgia, but teams like Oklahoma and Florida are just laughable. This however might just be the extra motivation Georgia needs to prove everyone wrong so they can compete for and win championships this season.
