A lot of interesting recruiting developments surrounding Georgia football took place on Saturday. Saturday also saw a former Bulldog suffer a scary injury during training camp as well.

But let's first begin with the leaked NIL offer that just became public that explains why Georgia lost the recruitment for their top prospect in the 2026 class.

Texas offered Tyler Atkinson twice as much money

Five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson committed to Texas over Georgia not long ago. Atkinson never shared exactly what led him to choose Texas over UGA, but it was assumed that NIL had something to do with it.

That assumption was confirmed this week when it was leaked that Atkinson's NIL offer from Texas was double the offer Georgia gave him. This fact make it a lot more clear why Atkinson would choose the Longhorns (who he only visited twice) over Georgia (who he visited 15 times throughout his recruitment).

Georgia RB suffers injury during NFL training camp

NFL training camps are fully underway as the 2025 season draws nearer. One former Bulldog who is looking to take the next step in his career this season is Seattle Seahawks running back Kenny McIntosh.

McIntosh is entering his third season with Seattle, and after a slow start to his career he was looking to finally start making a name for himself. Unfortunately McIntosh suffered a left leg injury during practice on Saturday which looked to be pretty serious.

No official word has come out yet about his status, but McIntosh was not able to put weight on his leg while walking off the field. Hopefully the injury isn't too serious, but things aren't looking great.

Warren Brinson sends Georgia's No. 1 recruit a message

The No. 1 recruit in the 2027 recruiting class is EDGE LaDamion Guyton. Guyton is from the state of Georgia, so he is arguably the most important target for UGA in the 2027 class.

Georgia and Texas Tech appear to be his top two teams right now, but former Georgia defensive lineman Warren Brinson sent Guyton a message on Saturday urging him to stay home and play for Georgia. Who knows if this will impact Guyton's recruitment, but it's clear that everyone at Georgia wants Guyton in Athens badly.
