Kirby Smart and Georgia have made a lot of noise on the recruiting trail recently. Some of that has been good and unfortunately some of it has been bad, but the Bulldogs once again are dominating the conversations in the college football world.
But don't forget about the Georgia basketball program either because they are making more noise than they have ever made before.
4-star Jerry Outhouse commits to Georgia
Friday turned into a massive night for Georgia's recruiting class. Four-star corner Jerry Outhouse was scheduled to announce his commitment, and after being predicted to Georgia earlier in the week the Bulldogs were expecting some really good news. Unfortunately Outhouse gave Georgia a reason to not feel so confident entering his announcement.
But Outhouse chose Georgia over four other programs which makes him the sixth recruit to join the Bulldogs' 2027 recruiting class.
Donte Wright is doing everything Georgia doesn’t want him to do
Donte Wright is one of Georgia's prized commits. He is a five-star corner and was just recently named a top 10 player in the country. He has been committed to Georgia since June and has even helped recruit other players to Athens, but things no longer are going so well in his recruitment.
A few days ago he is predicted to flip his commitment to Oregon. Then just a few days later he announced multiple official visits to other programs that will take place later this summer.
Wright is still committed to Georgia, but right now he is doing everything UGA doesn't want him to be doing.
Basektball is officially dancing into March Madness
Georgia hasn't made the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back seasons in over 20 years. That however will be changing this year thanks to the Bulldogs' big win over Alabama at the start of this week.
That victory essentially clinched Georgia's spot in the NCAA Tournament. Selection Sunday is still over a week away, but by all accounts the Bulldogs will hear their name called and will be dancing into March for the second year in a row.
