Thursday turned into quite the day for Georgia football news. Kirby Smart was predicted to flip a key target from an SEC rival that should have fans jumping with excitement while also announcing that another future non-conference game has been canceled.
Don't worry though because this time Georgia at least isn't canceling on a big name program.
But the biggest news of the day occurred when Smart signed both of Georgia's coordinators, Mike Bobo and Glenn Schumann, to new contracts that will have fans unsure how to feel about this news.
Mike Bobo and Glenn Schumann both sign contract extensions
The biggest news that has hit Georgia's program arguably over the past few months occurred on Thursday when Bobo and Schumann both signed new contracts.
Georgia fans are torn on how they feel about both coordinators. Bobo specifically receives the most hate from UGA fans, but Schumann has started to face a lot more backlash as well after Georgia's defense hasn't lived up to the standard that was set during their National Championships.
Both Bobo and Schumann's new contracts will keep them in Athens through the 2028 season. That gives them three years to win back Georgia fans and prove why they deserve to coach for much longer than that.
But at the end of the day it doesn't really matter what fans think because as long as Smart thinks they're the right men for the job then they will be at Georgia likely for much longer than the 2028 season.
4-star Kadin Fife predicted to flip from Tennessee to Georgia
Georgia's recruiting class could be on the verge of a major boost as four-star defensive lineman Kadin Fife was just predicted to commit to Georgia.
Fife is a former Tennessee commit who decided to decommit from the Vols a few weeks ago. This decision came just two weeks after he took an official visit to Georgia, so the writing has been on the wall for quite some time now.
Nothing is official in recruiting until a player officially makes their decision, but it is looking more and more like Smart is going to steal Fife from Tennessee any day now.
Kirby Smart cancels another future non-conference matchup
Georgia has been forced to cancel a handful of non-conference games ever since the SEC expanded to nine conference games each season. NC State, Louisville and Florida State were the first home-and-home series to be canceled, but now Georgia is canceling on a weak FCS opponent .
This time it is Florida A&M that is being canceled on as Georgia announced that their matchup that was scheduled for the 2028 season is off the books.
Georgia is scheduled to play Georgia Tech and Florida State as two of their three non-conference games during this season, so it would be expected that the third and final out of conference game would be against an easy opponent. Florida A&M seems like the perfect option, but for some unknown reason they will no longer play.
