Georgia football had as big of a day as possible on Tuesday. Not only did the latest edition of the College Football Playoff rankings come out, but the Bulldogs received a prediction to win a recruitment for the No. 1 player in the country.
News doesn’t get any bigger than that, so it only makes sense to begin there to find out who Georgia fans can expect to see commit soon.
Georgia predicted to land 5-star QB Jayden Wade
The biggest story of the day for Georgia somehow did not come from the release of the latest College Football Playoff rankings. That is a good thing though because Georgia received a prediction from Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong to win Jayden Wade’s recruitment.
Wade is a five-star quarterback in the 2028 class from the state of Florida who just so happens to be the No. 1 player in the country. So it’s easy to see how big this prediction is, but to make it even better Wade is scheduled to announce his commitment on Sunday, Nov. 16.
Wade isn’t a Bulldog yet and Georgia fans shouldn’t jump to any conclusions, but as it stands right now things are looking as good as possible for UGA in this recruitment.
College Football Playoff committee hand Georgia difficult playoff journey
The second edition of the College Football Playoff rankings were released Tuesday night. And to no one’s surprise Georgia held steady at No. 5 after even their dominant victory over Mississippi State.
While this is the ranking Georgia deserves, it’s impossible to not be upset with what their draw in the bracket would be. They would get an easy first round matchup at home against South Florida, but after that they would face No. 4 Alabama and No. 1 Ohio State.
Paths in the playoff do not get more difficult than that, so hopefully the final bracket in December will give Georgia a much easier journey.
SEC gives Georgia worst kickoff time possible for final home game of the season
The kickoff time for Georgia’s final home game of the season was announced earlier this week, and the SEC gave the Bulldogs a horrific start time. Thanks to the SEC, Georgia’s matchup next weekend against Charlotte will officially be a 12:45 pm EST start time.
This is about as bad as it gets because no one wants to see a home game start this early. This gives fans very little time to tailgate and enjoy being in Athens before the game begins, and it makes it even worse that it’s the final home game of the year.
There is a chance Georgia could host a first round playoff game this season, but that is not a guarantee. So as it stands today the SEC has made Georgia’s final home game of the year a lot worse because of this ridiculous start time.
