Georgia football got a big win against Florida this weekend, but they don't have any time to celebrate because they have an even bigger matchup this week at Ole Miss. Heading into this game Georgia moved up in the AP Poll rankings to make this an even larger matchup than it already was, and Vegas recognized that as well based on their opening odds.

Georgia vs Ole Miss opening odds

Georgia opened as a three point favorite over Ole Miss. If this game was in Athens Georgia would be favored by more, but since they have to travel to Ole Miss Vegas oddsmakers made this spread extremely close.

Before the season even began Georgia could've pointed to this game and said this would be a tight battle. The Bulldogs probably have the better overall roster, but Ole Miss has beat them two of their last three meetings which includes their playoff victory last season. The Rebels also still have Trinidad Chambliss at quarterback who has torched Georgia every time they've played.

Georgia deserves to be the favorite, but this game feels about as close to 50/50 as possible.

Georgia moves up in the latest AP Poll rankings

This week's updated AP Poll saw Georgia slide up to No. 2. Their dominant win over Florida was good enough to deserve this new ranking, but former No. 2 Ohio State falling at USC opened the path for UGA to move up.

Ole Miss on the other hand held steady at No. 12 even though they blew Auburn out by 30 points on Saturday.

The Rebels do have two losses this season already so that is why they are ranked 10 spots lower than Georgia. That won't matter though when these teams meet on the field this weekend because this game will be evenly matched across the field.

Floirda WR Bailey Stockton refused to give Georgia any credit

It's time for Georgia to move on from their win over Florida, but before doing that fans need to see what Florida wide receiver Bailey Stockton said. During his press conference after the game he was visibly upset with himself and his teammates for this loss, and rightfully so. The Gators had four turnovers and many other costly mistakes that made life super easy for Georgia in this matchup.

He however refused to give Georgia any credit for this win by saying "we're beating ourselves right now."

This statement is accurate to a certain extent, but Georgia still deserves credit for winning. They had to take advantage of the mistakes Florida made to win this game, and that's exactly what Georgia did. Sure Georgia didn't do anything flashy throughout this game, but when Florida kept making silly mistakes like they did they didn't have to play extremely well.

All they had to do was take advantage of their mistakes which is what they did, but they still deserve credit for coming out on top.
