Two Georgia football legends dominated the new cycle for UGA this weekend with their NFL teams. On top of that, a Georgia linebacker was named the No. 1 linebacker in the 2026 NFL Draft class this weekend as well.

But let's begin with an impressive highlight from one of the greatest Georgia football players of all time.

Stetson Bennett shows off elite arm during LA Rams practice

Georgia football legend Stetson Bennett is entering the 2025 season with the Los Angeles Rams as the obvious third string quarterback. That however isn't slowing him down as Bennett was seen in practice this weekend completing one of the more remarkable throws of the day.

Even though Bennett likely won't see the field this season, he still has a lot to play for. The two quarterbacks above him on the depth chart will see their contracts expire over the next two seasons, so if Bennett can continue to impress the Rams in practice they may be ready to name him their next starter in two years.

Dan Jackson projects to make Detroit's 53-man roster

Fan favorite Dan Jackson was drafted by the Detroit Lions towards the end of the 2025 NFL Draft this year. Being drafted however does not guarantee that he will actually make their 53-man roster.

However, an ESPN analyst predicted this weekend that Jackson will end up making the final roster for the Lions this season. This is a huge update for him and every Georgia fan because Detroit is projected to have one of the better teams in the NFL this season, so Jackson could end up contributing on a Super Bowl winning team this year.

C.J. Allen projected to be No. 1 LB in 2026 NFL Draft class

One of the leaders of Georgia's defense this fall will be linebacker C.J. Allen. Expectations are sky high for Allen this season, but those expectations have reached their peak as an NFL Draft expert said he believes Allen is the No. 1 linebacker in the 2026 NFL Draft class.

Allen obviously needs to have a great season to end up as the first linebacker drafted next year, but the potential is clearly there for him and NFL scouts and experts are beginning to notice.
