Sunday was primed to be a massive day for Georgia football and their fans. The AP Poll released their latest rankings and the opening spread for Georgia's upcoming showdown against Tennessee was published as well. The NFL also kicked off their season on Sunday as well, which came with a lot of drama and an injury scare for a Georgia Bulldog as well.

But let's begin with the updated AP Poll first before discussing this injury.

Georgia falls in updated AP Poll

The week three AP Poll was released on Sunday and Georgia fell two spots to No. 6. Normally UGA fans would be furious to see Georgia fall in the AP Poll after a win, but dropping two spots after their poor performance against Austin Peay is more than fair.

Georgia's ranking at the end of the day doesn't matter all that much though because as long as they keep winning then everything else will take care of itself.

Brock Bowers injury update

Not only is college football back, but so too is the NFL as Sunday marked the first weekend of NFL football. Georgia Bulldogs all over the legue were getting their seasons underway, including star tight end Brock Bowers.

Bowers and the Las Vegas Raiders picked up a big 20-13 win at New England, but it didn't come without an injury scare for their star tight end. After catching five passes for 103 yards, Bowers hurt his knee during the second half and that injury kept him sidelined for the rest of the game.

Bowers did confirm after the game that there are no concerns for him moving forward, but this injury is something to monitor as the Raiders host the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football next week.

Georgia early favorite vs Tennessee

Georgia is gearing up for their SEC opener this weekend as they travel to Knoxville to take on No. 15 Tennessee. This is the game of the week in college football as ESPN's College GameDay will be in town Saturday morning to hype up this game.

Vegas released the spread for this game on Sunday and the Bulldogs opened as seven point favorites. That line however almost immediately dropped to 4.5 points as a majority of the public was betting the Vols at that initial spread. But for now Georgia is still the favorite heading into one of the biggest games of the season.
