Georgia football is officially back as the Bulldogs hosted their first fall practice of the year on Thursday. There were a lot of great takeaways from UGA's practice, but a few negative things stood out as well. On top of that, word came out on Thursday that a rookie Bulldog in the NFL went down with an injury as well.
But let's dive right in and begin with some question marks surrounding one of Georgia's new transfers that surfaced on Thursday.
Josh McCray nowhere to be found at Georgia's practice
Georgia's first practice of the season is always an exciting time for Georgia fans. Not only do fans get to see the whole team together again, but they also get to catch their first glimpses of Georgia's new transfers. Unfortunately transfer running back Josh McCray was not seen at practice on Thursday.
No report has surfaced yet that explains his absense, so it is unclear why he was not on the field. So this is definitely something to monitor closely at Georgia's next practice to see if he is back on the field or not.
Kirby Smart is worried about Georgia's lack of experience
One question Kirby Smart was asked on Thursday was what his biggest worry is for this year's team. That appeared to be an easy question to answer because Smart immediately shared that it is the lack of experience on Georgia's roster this season.
Smart detailed that 54 percent of their team are made of players in their first or second year at Georgia. This means Georgia's roster has a lot of growing up to do over this next month before the season officially begins.
Jalon Walker injured with Atlanta Falcons
One of Georgia's three first round picks from the 2025 NFL Draft was linebacker Jalon Walker. This was an especially exciting pick for Georgia fans because he is staying home to play for the Atlanta Falcons.
Walker so far has impressed everyone in Atlanta's organization, but unfortunately it was reported on Thursday that he suffered a minor hamstring injury. It doesn't sound like this injury is anything significant, but he is being help out from team portions of practice right now just to be safe.
