The rest of the college football world has officially been put on notice. Georgia football has been the best program in the country over the last few years, and that has been the case both on the field and on the recruiting trail.
Georgia proved that sentiment true once again on Tuesday after earning a commitment from three-star defensive lineman Corey Howard, who chose the Bulldogs over rival Florida.

Georgia takes down Florida for 3-star Corey Howard
Howard won't be the highest ranked commit in Georgia's 2026 recruiting class. In fact, outside of the special teams players there is a chance Howard is the lowest ranked commit as the 247Sports composite rankings have him outside of the top 1,000 player in the country.
But Howard's ranking shouldn't be a reason why he should be doubted, because it is likely to increase in a hurry.
Up until May, Howard didn't have a power four offer yet. Georgia was the program who changed that by offering him on May 9, which Florida copied just two weeks later. The reason he didn't have any power four offers until then wasn't because he is a bad player, he just wasn't at a school where the top programs could find him. But Howard recently transferred to Valdosta High School in Georgia, which is how the Bulldogs and Florida were able to find him.
Florida and Georgia were the only two programs Howard took official visits to, but it became abundantly clear that UGA was the leader after these visits. So all this commitment did was confirm what most recruiting experts thought, that Howard wanted to be a Bulldog.
Howard is now the 20th member to join Georgia's 2026 recruiting class, which now sits at No. 4 in the country according to 247Sports. And after landing a commit three days in a row now, it doesn't look like Georgia's momentum is going to stop anytime soon.
