The Georgia Bulldogs showed their dominance in every facet during their win over the Texas Longhorns on Saturday. Everyone knew that Georgia had a dominant run offense going into this game, and most fans also knew that Gunner Stockton was playing at an extremely high level as well.

However, speculations were swirling about how Georgia's defensive line could play after being banged up with injuries and struggling to get to the quarterback all season. Not only did they prove they could step up, but they excelled and showed the college football world they are a serious playoff threat.

Georgia's DL makes them title contenders

To start the season, the Georgia defensive line was very uncharacteristic to what Georgia fans were used to seeing. Opposing quarterbacks were given plenty of time to throw in every game and were able to shred an inexperienced secondary. However, things have changed for the better of the Bulldogs. Arch Manning faced pressure consistently against the Bulldogs and forced him to throw into contested spots all night long.

When Georgia gets pressure on the QB, they win football games. The Georgia defense did something against Texas it has not in quite some time, they dominated. They dominated Texas in every facet and shut down the Longhorns throughout the entire game. Texas ran the ball for only 23 yards, with Manning rushing for negative 17 yards. The run game was stifled, and it forced Texas to throw the ball on nearly every play.

In a year that not one quarterback has truly dominated, it is crucial to be able to stuff the run game and get pressure on the quarterback. Georgia has now proven that they can effectively do just that. They can make offenses uncomfortable and force them to throw the ball and play against their normal scheme.

Even if they are able to hit big pass plays, Georgia's offense has proven against Ole Miss and Tennessee that they have what it takes to match it. Georgia can beat any team in every facet of the game. Before Texas, experts were not so sure the defense could lead Georgia to victory. That however is not the case anymore after the beatdown of the Longhorns on Saturday.
