Through four games this season Georgia is yet to have a great game time. They haven’t had a terrible start time this year by any means which has been nice, but Georgia’s next matchup against Vanderbilt is scheduled in the early time slot which is potentially the worst time they could’ve possibly received.
Considering everything that is on the line in this game, that is a mistake by the SEC.
When do Georgia and Vanderbilt play?
Georgia and Vanderbilt will kickoff at 12:45 pm EST on Sturday, Oct. 3. This game will be played in Sanford Stadium in Athens, GA.
Their first two games of Georgia's season against Tennessee State and Western Kentucky started at 3:00 and 12:45 pm EST. Fans typically prefer night games at home, but considering the level of competition Georgia was playing it made sense for these games to be earlier in the day. Their third game of the season at Arkansas was a Noon EST start which for a road game is actually preferred as the opposing fans will be less into the game than if it were at night.
Then this past week Georgia and Oklahoma played at 3:30 pm EST. This isn't a bad time by any means, but a night game would've been better. Now Georgia has a game full of interesting narratives with former Georgia QB commit Jared Curtis starting for Vanderbilt, but they have to play early in the day instead of at night even though the night games in the SEC this week are terrible selections.
How to watch Georgia football play Vanderbilt
Not only did Georgia not get a good start time against Vanderbilt, but they won't be playing in front of a national TV audience either. Georgia and Vanderbilt will air on the SEC Network so Georgia fans will be able to easily watch this game, but they'll have to take a week off from playing on ABC or ESPN.
Georgia's game against Vanderbilt will be available to be streamed on the ESPN app and Fubo TV as well.
What does Vegas think of Georgia's matchup against Vanderbilt?
Georgia is currently favored by 24.5 points over Vanderbilt, according to the DraftKings Sportsbook. The over-under for this game is set at 55.5 points as well.
Georgia has won all four of their games this season in convincing fashion and that is what Vegas thinks will happen again this week against Vanderbilt. This spread however could be even higher though considering Georgia has won all four of their games this season by at least 28 points. Vanderbilt also on paper is worse than Oklahoma who Georgia just beat by 28, so it's a bit strange that Vegas doesn't think they'll win by that much again.
All that matters at this point in the season is that Georgia keeps winning. Sure it would be nice to blow Vanderbilt out, but winning is the only thing that matters and Vegas thinks Georgia shouldn't have a problem doing that against the Commodores.
