There really is nothing better than seeing Georgia trend with some of the top players in the country with decision dates looming. That is exactly what is happening with the Bulldogs and the No. 1 quarterback in the country Jared Curtis, who has a decision date set for May 5.
But there is another recruit that UGA fans need to keep a close eye on as well, and that is five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell.
Cantwell is the consensus No. 1 recruit in the country who also has a commitment date quickly approaching on May 13. Georgia has also been one of the top schools for Cantwell for quite some time now, but many thought they had a serous uphill battle to climb if they wanted to beat the likes of Oregon and Miami (FL) for the No. 1 offensive tackle.
But it appears Georgia was able to complete that climb as On3's Steve Wiltfong has officially predicted Georgia to land Cantwell.

Wiltfong was even quoted saying that Cantwell has "always seen himself" at Georgia as well.

Will this be enough for Georgia to hold on?
Cantwell made a big announcement a few weeks ago that he was pushing his original commitment date back two weeks to May 13. The sole reason he did this was so he could make one final visit to Georgia on May 10 before announcing his final decision. This was obviously seen as great news for UGA and the biggest reason why many thought Georgia was the team to beat.
UGA however had one final hurdle to overcome even after this announcement, and that was Cantwell's official visit to Oregon which occurred last weekend. Unfortunately for Georgia, Cantwell himself said this visit went extremely well, but it appears to not have gone well enough to make Oregon his new favorite instead of Georgia.
Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs still have a lot of work to do if they want to win this recruitment, but with Cantwell's commitment only 10 days away and another visit to Athens still upcoming, Georgia fans have to love where they stand with the top ranked player in the country.
