Georgia football is just one day removed from landing their 10th commitment in the 2026 class when four-star wide receiver Ryan Mosley made his pledge to Georgia on Wednesday. This commitment came at the same time Georgia was also predicted to land Jae Lamar, who is the No. 8 running back in the 2026 recruiting class according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

That's about as good of a day as any program in the country can expect to have, but the good news for Georgia isn't done just yet.

Late on Thursday, Georgia was predicted by 247Sports to win another recruitment, this time for coveted five-star safety Jireh Edwards.

5-star Jired Edwards predicted to commit to Georgia

According to 247Sports, Edwards is the No. 26 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 3 overall safety in the 2026 class as well as the No. 3 player from his home state of Maryland.

Edwards made a big update to his recruitment on Wednesday as he announced who his top five schools are. Those programs are Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Alabama and Oregon. Edwards also has a commitment date set for July 5, so many thought little information would come out about his recruitment until he took his scheduled official visits throughout the next month.

That however turned out to not be the case as Edwards was predicted on Thursday to commit to Georgia, according to 247Sports insider Jeff Ermann.

While this news is great to see, Edwards will take an official visit to his four other finalists before his commitment date in July. This means Kirby Smart and Georgia have a lot of work still to do to win this recruitment, but things are looking very good right now for the Bulldogs to add their second five-star to their recruiting class in about a month.
