The NCAA really dropped the ball when they announced the game times for this weekend's Super Regional matchups. Georgia's three-game series against Mississippi State is one of just two series featuring two nationally seeded teams, but the NCAA didn't care about that.

So what did they decide to do? They decided to schedule first pitch for game one at 11:00 am EST on Saturday followed up with a Noon EST first pitch on Sunday for game two. Who knows why they are refusing to put arguably the biggest series of the Super Regional round in a prime time slot, but the NCAA wasn't interested in giving the fans what they want .

Georgia fans however didn't let these horrific game times slow them down because they still immediately sold out Foley Field for the entire weekend.

Georgia fans didn't let the NCAA's mistake hinder their excitement

Who wants to watch a baseball game at 11:00 am? Apparently Georgia fans do because they sold out Foley Field as quickly as they possibly could even with these terrible game times.

That just shows how passionate and ready this fanbase is to finally get back to the College World Series.

The Bulldogs haven't made the College World Series since 2008. Since then they have only made the Super Regional one other time in 2024 when they lost two games to one to NC State in Athens. Georgia now will look to avenge that defeat against a Mississippi State team that Vegas oddsmakers are very high on.

It wouldn't have mattered if these games were played at 8:00 pm, 4:00 pm or in the middle of the might, Georgia fans would've showed up to give their team the best home field advantage possble. It's unfortunate that they didn't get a prime time slot, but Georgia fans are ready to see their team get back to the CWS for the frst time in nearly two decades.

Georgia can use these early game times to their advantage

These early game times could benefit Georgia compared to Mississippi State. The Bulldogs get to sleep in the comfort of their own homes compared to Mississippi State who will be living in a hotel. Night games make it very easy for a visiting team to wake up and handle their normal business, but an early game time could be awkward for a visiting team waking up in a hotel.

It will be business as usually for Georgia though as their schedules won't be impacted much at all. They'll pick a time to arrive to Foley Field and everyone can handle their business at home as they get themselves ready for each game.

This is a nice benefit for Georgia because they will be without start infielder Tre Phelps for game one on Saturday after he was ejected from their win over Liberty on Sunday. So any advantage they can get, even as small is this one, is absolutely welcome.

First pitch for game one of Georgia's Super Regional tilt against Mississippi State is scheduled for Saturday, June 6 at 11:00 am EST.
