Georgia had six players enter the Transfer Portal after their season came to an end. Two of those former Bulldogs have already found new homes, and up to this point no one has decided to stay in the SEC.
That however changed on Tuesday as Jeremiah Wilkinson opted to stay close to Athens and transfer to Arkansas to play for John Calipari.

Jeremiah Wilkinson’s transfer decision breaks Georgia’s heart
The first Bulldog to find their new home was Jake Wilkins who moved out west to Cal. After him it was starting center Somto Cyril who did his best Carson Beck impression by transferring to Miami.
Both of these schools aren’t in the SEC, so thankfully Georgia won’t have to worry about facing either player next season. The same however can’t be said for Wilkinson, and that’s a shame because of how talented he is.
Wilkinson began his career at Cal two years ago where he played his freshman year of basketball. After that he made the move to Georgia last offseason where he immediately became the Bulldogs best player. This season he led the team by averaging 17.4 points per game and became the biggest reason why Georgia found the success that they did.
Wilkinson now moves to Arkansas where Calipari is building a juggernaut. Arkansas had a great season this past year and made a solid run in the NCAA Tournament, and with the addition of Wilkinson there’s a chance they could have an even better year.
Georgia’s schedule for next season hasn’t been released yet, but it will feature Arkansas at least once. Fans should hope that game is in Athens so they can let Wilkinson know how they feel about his decision, and maybe they can find a way to beat him to let him know how big of a mistake he made.
