Five-star defensive lineman Marcus Fakatou has been one of Georgia's top targets for a long time. They have been in a very good spot for much of his recruitment and have even looked like the favorite to earn his commitment at certain points this year.
Fakatou however is ready to commit, and Georgia will soon learn whether they did enough to earn his commitment of if they came up just short.

When is Marcus Fakatou announcing his commitment?
Fakatou is scheduled to announce his commitment Monday, June 29 at 3:00 pm EST.
Who are Marcus Fakatou's finalists?
Georgia is one of Fakatou's three finalists in his recruitment. They are joined by Big Ten power Ohio State and SEC rival Texas as the final three schools in his recruitment.
How to watch Marcus Fakatou's commitment
Fakatou's recruitment will be streamed live on YouTube. 247Sports is hosting his commitment announcement and it is on their official YouTube channel where fans can watch him make his final decision.
Who is predicted to win Marcus Fakatou's recruitment?
247Sports still hasn't logged an official prediction in his recruitment. This could mean that Georgia, Texas and Ohio State could all still win, but On3 paints a very different picture.
According to On3 it is Ohio State who is the team to beat in Fakatou's recruitment. They also don't think it's particularly close as they give the Buckeyes a 93.5 percent chance to come out on top.
Crazier things have happened in recruiting before, but all signs point to the Buckeyes getting good news from Fakatou.
What would a commitment from Marcus Fakatou mean for Georgia?
It's safe to say that Fakatou's commitment would be huge for Georgia. For starters, he is a five-star recruit and the No. 24 overall player in the country, so no one needs to be told how massive his commitment would be for Georgia's program.
On top of that, winning his recruitment when all signs are pointing towards Ohio State being the team to beat would make his commitment even better. Ohio State is one of the best programs in the country, so coming from behind and beating them in this fashion would send a message that Georgia shouldn't be messed with.
Finally, earning Fakatou's commitment would skyrocket Georgia up the 2027 recruiting class rankings. They currently have the No. 15 class in the country, but adding Fakatou would move them all the way up to No. 7. That would clearly be a much better position to be in, so hopefully Georgia can make that a reality.
No Georgia fan should be going into this announcement expecting good news, but Kirby Smart should never be doubted as he has proven how great of a recruiter he is more than a few times.
