Georgia football has had quite the offseason so far in 2025. The offseason began with massive news when quarterback Carson Beck made the decision to exit the NFL Draft and transfer to Miami (FL). News really can't get much bigger than that, so the fact it happened in early January foreshadowed how wild the offseason would be for Georgia.
While losing Beck was a big loss on paper, the Bulldogs entered the offseason with a major quarterback competition on their hands. Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi are still battling for the starting QB job, and at this point it seems like Stockton is the leader, but anything is still possible.
Kirby Smart was also active in the portal himself, and earned key commitments all over the field from players like wide receiver Zachariah Branch and linebacker Elo Modozie. Georgia also earned a commitment from the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class in Jared Curtis.
So what is this major milestone that Georgia has reached? As it stands today, the Bulldogs have just 100 days until their season opener against Marshall on Aug. 30. 100 days sounds like a long time (because it is), but the first five months of the offseason have flown by and that will likely continue as June and July approach.
What to expect the rest of the offseason?
June will focus mainly on high school recruiting. According to 247Sports, the Bulldogs currently have the No. 15 class in the country, but that will likely change in a hurry.
Georgia already had their first big recruiting weekend where they brought in nine prospects on their official visits, and those big recruiting weekends will continue throughout June. Then as the calendar flips to July, preparations for the season ahead will ramp up where they will reach their peak in August.
